On my last night in Mazatlán, I stopped for dinner at one of the most popular sushi places in the area, Ranch Roll Sushi. They had a beautiful atmosphere with a high-class feel. There was tons of natural lighting and a variety of thriving plants all around. In the middle of the restaurant was a staircase that leads to a second floor where we were seated.
To start things off I ordered Tuna Sashimi that came with a bowl of a specialty soy sauce. The texture and flavor was amazing. As someone who doesn’t typically care to order raw fish, this dish is practically a delicacy and when you’re this close to the ocean, it’s a must order. The sashimi was extremely tender and fresh tasting. Everyone at the table was hesitant at first but after one bite began going at it.
Now for my sushi roll, I chose to go fried as I typically do. What made this place different from your typical concept is that they used “res” or meat as a common theme for their rolls. I decided to give it a go and ordered the Campirano, it had meat, avacoda, Philadelphia cheese, and fried shrimp as its main components.
The fried part added a sensational crunch and the fried shrimp on top was a nice addition to the roll. The flavors all blended well together. Points should be awarded for presentation as well because every dish that came out looked incredible. If you ever happen to be in Mazatlán, México go check out Ranch Roll Sushi!
