One of my favorite breweries in Wichita is Nortons Brewing Company. They have a spacious dining area and outdoor beer garden – perfect for waiting for your seat or snagging a spot by a fire pit with friends and enjoying a cold one. For todays visit I focused on the food but I did dabble in some alcohol.

I started with an appetizer, The Chips and Queso for $8.99. It was topped with pico de gallo and unlike most places that claim their Queso is “spicy”, it really did have a nice bite to it. It had a thick consistency and the chips were the thinner style that I like.
For the main course I decided to take a gamble on the French Onion Burger for $13.99. This burger comes with “ooey, gooey Gruyère cheese” which was an accurate description, seasoned grilled onions, a heaping amount of French onion aioli, with a toasted onion roll bread. I mean this burger tasted identical to the soup and while messy – it was worth every bite. This was something I wouldn’t typically think to order but it had great flavor and came with a side order of fries, which were crispy and a ranch dipping sauce. Just make sure you have a couple napkins handy for this meal.
Now you can’t go to a brewery and not try out a drink, or two—so that’s what I did. They had recently posted about a Paloma, so I ordered it. It was called the Una Muerte, It was made with Una Vida blanco tequila, mint infused agave nectar, lime and grapefruit juice. It wasn’t too strong and tasted just like I’d hoped, refreshing. However it is $9, so just one was fine for this visit.
I finished my evening by taking my daughter out to the beer garden area where they had several swings. The weather was beautiful so we hung out for a bit enjoying the evening. This place can be packed with people due to its popularity but if you can manage to get a seat – they provide great food, drinks, and atmosphere. Check them out!
Here’s the menu.
